In this section you can
find information about Elvis records and some movieposters released in Turkey. We will
try to present the stories of Elvis' singles and LPs mostly
produced by Turkish company "Melodi Plak". So far we collected
approximately 60 different records.
DON’T CRY DADDY / RUBBERNECKIN’ RCA 69933
This single released by Melodi Plak is a real special one.
The cover is completely different from the original US release. The
illustration was made by Betul Atlı, a Turkish artist, who was famous for
designing many covers of records especially during 60's and 70's in Turkey. This
makes the record one of the most seeking items from our country. The record had
to be released the same year, i.e. 1969, but early 1970 is also possible.

After reading these lines, the traders would demand a fortune
for the item. But please do not forget, the prices are already high and the
young generation does not collect records. Elvis is the best-selling artist of
all time and there are many different copies from many countries. On the other
hand, as we see on the internet auctions, it is not easy to find buyers who
accept to pay that much. Trying to avoid selling cheap, you may even lose some
money due to cost of keeping. One would better ask someone who knows the value,
before trading.
As you know, the songs on this record are really beautiful.
They were both recorded at American Studios in Memphis in 1969 and Rubberneckin
was also used in “Change of Habit”. Besides, "Don’t Cry Daddy” has already been
a classic.

This is the movieposter of "Girl Happy" which was called "Kızımın
Bekçisi"
(English translation: Guardian of My Daughter) and distributed by
Akün Film in our country. They were mostly based on
the Italian Elvis movie posters.
